Two anglers per guide — flexible planning and a personalized approach
At Fat Trout Outfitters, we believe no two fishing days should be the same. That’s why each program is carefully designed based on your preferences, skill level, and seasonal conditions.
Daily outings are planned according to weather, water levels, and the type of experience you’re looking for — whether it’s wading small creeks, floating wide rivers, or sight fishing in crystal-clear waters. Our local guides don’t just know the terrain — they know how to adapt to each angler to create a technical, enjoyable, and truly authentic Patagonian experience.
All trips operate with a two to one angler to guide ratio, ensuring close attention and expert support throughout the day.
We also offer one on one guiding upon request for those seeking an even more exclusive experience.
Our main operations are based in Coyhaique, the heart of Chilean Patagonia.
We’ve also expanded further south, offering three all-inclusive programs in remote and stunning natural locations:
Program 1: Cerro Castillo
Sight fishing in pristine lakes and lagoons surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. Perfect for anglers in search of large trout in clear waters and breathtaking scenery.
Program 2: Río Baker and surrounding rivers
Explore the majestic Río Baker, Chile’s most powerful river, along with other nearby streams. Expect rainbow and brown trout in a dynamic and visually spectacular fishing experience.
Program 3: Villa O’Higgins
The southernmost village in our region wild, remote, and rarely explored. A one of a kind adventure through untouched landscapes, ideal for anglers seeking solitude, raw nature, and a deep connection with Patagonia’s true spirit.
